The client is a foreign apparel manufacturer that wanted to register its trademark in Japan in order to expand its business in Japan, and consulted our office.

The client provided us with information in English, such as the trademark to be registered, the designated goods and services, the address, and the company name. We translated this information into Japanese and prepared a trademark registration application.
In particular, for the designated goods and services, we used the “Product and Service Name Search” function of the Patent Information Platform (J-PlatPat) to search for appropriate Japanese product and service names that correspond to the English designated goods and services provided by the client, and included them in the application documents.
